Intro to Little's Combo is suggested for ages 3-4, or for first year Combo students.
Little's Combo is suggested for ages 4-5, or second/third year Combo students.
Students will be introduced to ballet and tap fundamentals, throughout the year. Little's Combo class emphasizes the development of motor skills, coordination, creative thinking, counting, listening and social skills. Students will learn one tap routine for the annual show.
A fundamental class for all levels.
Jazz dance is an exploration of style and presentation.
Classes emphasize musicality and body alignment, conditioning, stretch and strengthening, rhythm and stylization, and incorporate fun and innovative choreography. Dancers will participate in rhythmic exercises, jumps, turns, kicks, floor work, and transitional steps. Dancers can expect to move to a quick beat, in a routine full of restlessness and fun!
As students progress their education of dance throughout the years, the jazz style will develop from a traditional jazz style to a more modern jazz style. Street jazz is the next step beyond basic jazz choreography, as it puts a bold emphasis on modern dance. Street jazz takes the dancer beyond the essence of the fundamentals of the traditional dance style. Street jazz resembles a mixture of hip hop and jazz.
Tap dancing is a style that has been around since the early 1800s, tap dance has remained one of the most prominent genres in the dance world to date. Students will learn and develop the fundamentals of tap, develop rhythmic skills, learn to articulate and tap out their happy feet.
Lyrical is a modern form of traditional ballet. Lyrical dance blends elements of ballet & jazz, and orients itself around dancer's emotional responses. The style is often emotionally charged and expressive. The choreography reflects the lyrics of the song and conveys strong emotions.
Hip hop is a form of street dance; full of energy, spunk, personality, and individuality. The dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip hop music. Hip hop dancing is very dynamic and helps the dancers embrace diversification in movements & styles, develop body balance, and coordination.
A ballet-based class that delves into proper posture and body placement, focuses on effective stretching techniques, and emphasizes barre work, floor combinations, and development of endurance. This class is popular amongst beginners and experienced dancers looking to better develop their knowledge at a customary pace, figure skaters, and theater students. This class is recommended to be taken in addition to a jazz, tap, or lyrical class. Students do not learn a routine for the annual show.
